Its a crazy month, right on the tail end of a crazy year, and man am I ready for some New Years Eve in Chicago party time and a better 2010.

I would have to say the best highlight for me in 2009 was scoring the full time mid-day position here on The LOOP WLUP, 97.9FM Chicago. It has been a life long dream of mine to work for this station and in 2009 that dream came true. Sweet!

Sure, lots of other drama continues to take place. Doesn't it always?

For the last 4 1/2 years I have been one of the go-to guys that has worked every single holiday in the book. This means that while you were enjoying your holiday, I was the guy in the WLUP LOOP studios playing rock for Chicago.. and I loved it!

Thanks to the recent events, I actually get to take the holidays off.

While I know I will miss coming down to the broadcast studios, I have to admit I am looking forward to spending the entire day with friends and family. I think they are pretty excited about it too.

Winter Solstice sounds like one of those crazy hippie things where everybody dances around in the woods, and it might very well be just that, however it is also the half way mark in Winter and it happens today at 11:48. It seems many people have a different time for this event. I'm going to go with the 11:48 am.

The good news is that this means we are half way through Winter!
Hell yeah!

While I like the snow, for a while, I would much rather be riding my Harley Davidson through the hills of Northern Illinois. Winter Solstice means that I am just that much closer.
