Steven Tyler Enters Rehab December 22 2009
Several sources have confirmed that Steven Tyler has entered rehab for pain management and addiction to pain medicine.
“With the help of my family and team of medical professionals I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford,” said Steven Tyler
Steven has been plagued with injuries over the last 10 years, and his problems with addiction are well documented.
I know that all of us Aerosmith fans are glad to hear that he plans to stay with the band, touring and recording. Aerosmith just wouldn't be the same without him.
“I wish to set the record straight and say that I have read reports of a rumored two-year hiatus and want to be clear that this is completely false and I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled.” Steven commented in a recent Rolling Stone article.
Prescription medications are amazingly addicting, and considering Steven's history of injuries and addictions, this news really does not come as a surprise to his bandmates.
I'm glad to see that he has admitted that he needs help and is brave enough to seek out the treatment that will get him not only on the road to recovery, but back in the studio with his band.
Great job Mr. Tyler, and God's speed!
